Jim was a business associate. I did not know him well, but we did spend time together under the guise of business.

Sean and Derek
It is hard to believe that almost 10 years has past since that day your father passed away. I will never forget when I first heard he was a potential victim. He is missed by everyone who knew him and now he is together again with your mom. God Bless You and your families. May perpetual light shine upon him as he watches over you and your children from heaven. He was a classmate of mine at St Bernard HS.

Sean and Derek,
Jim and I are cousins and I used to live up Chapman Road just before White Birch in E Hampton. You don't remember me as I left the area in 1991 and traveled around for a good many years. However, Jim stayed with me in AZ in 1996 when he was out there on business. We slugged down a bunch of beer and he talked about how proud he was of the two of you.
I have bricks going into the World Trade Plaza in memory of Jim and Sheila and have given "102 Minutes That Changed America" to the Schools around here so the younger kids don't forget.
Hope you both are moving on and doing well in life.

I went to high school with Jimmy. He was always such a kind person. No one could ever say a bad word about him. I pray that God will give Sheila and their children comfort in the memories of having such a wonderful husband and father. God bless you. Deborah

Seven years have passed, it seems like people are begining to forget what happened. I will never forget sitting in your kitchen before babysitting DJ & Sean, listening to your stories about lifegaurding and how you met Mrs. Hobin. We all remember!

Jim Hobin was a major figure in my son Buddy's childhood. He was the essence of community volunteerism and helped make the Marlborough Youth Athletic league great. I will always remember him as a true hero.

Mr. Hobin wasn't just a roll model to the "boys" of little league but to the girls as well. I played for him for 4 years, before it was cool for girls to join little league. He went out of his way to remind us all that it was about the game and the team above anything else. You truly were a role model. Thank you.

I don't know what to say only that I feel the need to tell someone how much I miss him. Even though we were so far apart, I remember our times together on the golf course, hitting baseballs with the kids, bbq's... I always thought in our retirement days we could be closer and spend more time playing golf. We spent more time looking for our balls, laughing at each other, discovering how bad we really were at the game. Jimmy was my brother-in-law but actually he was more of a true brother. I miss him, think of him often, and still mourn his untimely death. My sincere condolences to Shiela, and to his sons Sean and DJ.

I never knew Jim, even though I live just a few houses away. I wanted to write a note of sympathy to his family last year but never got around to doing it. I am so sorry for their loss.

I too worked with Jim many years ago at ANI in CT. I will always remember the twinkle in his eye and that sly smile he would give to everyone. It's hard to imagine a full year has passed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends this 11th day of September, 2002.

My thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Hobin. I came across this incredible man while doing a project for school. Something just drew me to the name. I am now more determined than ever to write a letter to his wife, no matter how long it takes. If Ms. Hobin ever reads this, may God bless you and your family.

We are very sorry for your loss of James. We thank him for all he did for the children. Such work comes from a heart full of warmth, caring and love. May James's caring attitude, his life and love live on in those who love him. We are very sorry for your loss of James. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Jim was an excellent professional in the power industry. This was demonstrated by the presentations that he gave to industry groups. More importantly he was an fine human being and a friend.

I worked with Jim at Marsh until my departure last year and it was always a pleasure to work on a project with him. He was thorough and professional, but never lost his sense of humor, especially when it came down to the "5 minutes to go and we still aren't done!" I was tremendously saddened to learn that he was a victim of the dreadful terrorist attack and wish to extend my deepest sympathies to his family.

Jim was a wonderful role model for the boys he coached, including my son. My memory of Jim will always be seeing Jim on a Saturday morning tending to and preening the baseball field, as he said was done for him as a young baseball player. Condolences from our family to yours.

Jim was a great co-worker but more importantly a good friend. As much as I will miss him as a professional resource, I will miss him more as a source of some good laughs, an equally lousy game of golf, and someone to commiserate with over a few beers. My heart goes out to Sheila and the boys.

Jim was a special kid to coach and teach. He was one tough competitor and always under control. "Cool Hand Luke", as I called him, was a source of pride and admiration as he grew into a fine young man. His love and loyalty for Sheila, his boys, and dedication to his mom were something special to watch through the years. Jim was/is a very special part of my teaching career. love as always Coach Demars

Hobie was a great college roommate. Always focused on the task at hand and totally committed to Sheila. If his sons are like Jim, they must be two pretty terrific young men. To Sheila... my sincere condolences. Although we haven't stayed in touch, we'll all miss Jim greatly.
Sincerely,
Kevin
