Frank Madlock Obituary

Frank Madlock, age 90, of 2076 Congo St. in Akron, Ohio, died at the hospital on March 20, 2021 after a brief stay for heart failure. Frank is survived by his brother, Gene Madlock; daughter, Karen Brautigam; son, David (Susan) Madlock; three grandchildren, Jesse Brautigam, Nick (Angela) Plumley, and Adam Simpson; and two great-grandchildren, Ariana and Cameron Plumley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Katherine; his wife, Roxie; and his daughter, Denise Simpson. Frank was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served with distinction as a Marine Corporal during his tour of duty. It got so cold staying in foxholes, at times he came home with both hands and feet having been frostbitten. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as his family and friends will attest. After the war and getting married, he became a long-distance truck driver and worked for Consolidated Freightways for over 40 years before he retired in 1992. During his long retirement, he pursued two hobbies with a passion; golfing and building a model train in his basement. He lived a full and happy life and will be missed. Semper Fi Dad and Rest in Peace! Frank's wish was to be cremated and services will be held at a later date.
