Mose Madlock Jr.

Mose Madlock, Jr. of Peoria, Illinois, passed away July 15, 2024 at 7:05 p.m. at his residence. He was born February 11, 1943 in Merigold, Mississippi to Mose Sr. and Minnie Mae Madlock. He married Charlene Madlock on August 26, 1995 in Peoria, Illinois. She survives.
Mose loved his family. He worked for Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, fishing, traveling and spending time with family... and Dunkin Donuts every morning.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose Sr. and Minnie Mae Madlock; two sisters, Mosetta Harris and Luella Rose; one brother, Oscar McClain; and one daughter, Mae Ruth Jackson.
Mose Madlock was loved by his family, leaving to cherish his memories his wife, Charlene Madlock; one sister, Gloria Tyler; four brothers, James Madlock (Pappy), Roosevelt Madlock, George (Janie) Madlock, and Tommy Lee (Beatrice) Madlock.
He also leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Althea (Lisa) Madlock and Jametta Rutherford; three sons, Edgar (Shermaine) Lee, Benjamin Myles and D'Andre Myles - along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved and adored him.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at New Cornerstone Baptist Church (3609 W. Harmon Hwy., Peoria, IL 61604) with Reverend Dr. Mark A. McConnell officiating.
