Joe was an incredibly effective attorney, not one of the best, he was the best in Rutherford County. I liked Joe grandly as
a person as well. We had several interesting conversations. His perspective on things were intellectual,and brilliant. Joe, you'll be missed by many. Rest easy my friend.

Melanie, I am sorry for the lost of Joe. It is very hard to loose a sibling. May he rest in peace. Joe recently took the time to call me and answer a few questions regarding a family matter. Joe was an amazing man, lawyer, christian and friend. He was a power house and a ball of passion. It devastated me when I heard of his passing. Due to his history, bravery and passion, he reconciled my husband and I as a lawyer. Instead of advising divorce, he counseled us on forgiveness and reconciliation. Due to that he became a friend not just a lawyer. He will be so missed but I am thrilled that he was the christian man he was and know we will see him again in Heaven. He is definitely enjoying a beautiful beach in heaven while he shines down on those of us left behind. I pray his family has comfort and peace knowing he is with the Lord.

I will remember Joe as "Zachary Brandon's Dad".
Our children attended the same elementary school and my son mentioned Joe's son, "Zach Brandon", all the time, when he was a boy.
I saw Joe at The Greenhouse Ministries in the first week of September, 2015.
As I was leaving, we chatted about our sons.
Mine in college football and his son headed to law school...I could see that he was proud of their respective futures because his face lit up and he smiled really big.
That was my "goodbye" to "Zachary Brandon's Dad".
He was very proud of you Zach!
Wishing comfort for Zach this morning as this sudden and tragic passing of his Dad must rank as incredible and surreal for him.
Also, wishing the entire family comfort during this time too.

Joe was our family law lawyer, he was such a great man and attorney. He brought peace to our whole family after years of chaos in a miserable situation. He even gave my son sponge Bob stickers during our meeting one time and to this day my son still refers to him as "the man in that office that gave me stickers". He became more than our attorney, he became a friend to both my husband and I, and we will be forever thankful to him. Joe used his God given gifts to help other people and he will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace now in God's kingdom at a beach far more peaceful and beautiful than any of us could imagine. Laurie I remember sitting in the waiting area once and telling you your heart light up necklace was so cute, you told me your valentine gave it to you, Joe talked about you often and loved you so. I was in his office during several phone conversations with his children and his face just lit up when he talked to them, he loved you all so very much, never forget that. May God be with his whole family now and forever.
