Kevin Thomas Campisi, 49, of Highlands, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 20, 2010. He was born on August 12, 1960, in Jamaica, New York, to Joseph James Campisi and Mary Anne Farkas Campisi. He graduated from St. John High School in Long Island, New York, and later attended Lee College, where he earned an Associate of Arts in Teaching in August of 2008 and an Associate of Science in May of 2009. He was inducted into Zeta Nu Chapter of Phil Theta Kappa and Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society in 2007. Employed by Lee College for four years as a lab assistant in the biology department, Kevin was honored on April 30, 2009, at the Lee College Presidential Honors Day with the Award of Excellence in the area of Environmental Science. He was passionate about all living things - plants, animals and people. He will be remembered as a quiet, witty, intelligent and joyful individual. God bless you, our son, brother and father. Kevin is survived by his parents, Joseph and Mary Anne Campisi; sons, Kevin Michael Campisi and wife, Meghan, and Jesse Campisi, all of New York; sister, Karen Kwarciany and husband, Terry; brothers, Scott Campisi and wife, Zeny, James Campisi and companion, Shelby White, and John Campisi; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other friends, family and colleagues who will miss his presence in their lives. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 6 - 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, with Reverend John Zabelskas officiating. Burial will follow at White Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crespo & Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services, 6123 Garth Road, Baytown 77521, 281.839.0700.
