George Carrol Standridge age 88 of Kingston passed away Sunday October 25, 2009 at his home. He was a member of Luminary United Methodist Church, and was a long time member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Led many missionary trips building churches from South Dakota to Brazil. Member of Gideons International for forty years. A well known builder in the Roane County area. Army Air Force Veteran of WWII. Preceded in death by his wife Marie Brown Standridge. Survivors include Daughters Kathy and husband Dartis Francis of Kingston Barbara Standridge of Knoxville Son David and wife Debbie Standridge of Kingston Grandchildren Gina Fink and husband Michael of Kingston Danny Francis of Kingston Great grandchildren Anna and Aaron Fink Brother Lee Standridge of Decatur AL Sisters Mildred Keenum of Danville, AL Nancy Horan of Columbus GA Nephew Gene Standridge of Kingston Sisters in law Adell Terrell and Grace Jones of Danville, AL
Funeral 7pm Tuesday October 27, 2009 in the Kyker Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial 11am Wednesday at Kingston Memorial Gardens. The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Gideons International Roane County Camp, P.O. Box 476 Kingston, TN 37763. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7pm Tuesday at the Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston.
