Signed was my favorite cousin, from when we first met until she died. I was 2 and she was 5. I remember she loved horses so much that for awhile she pretended to be one. Her mom, Mary Ruth, had to put her food on the floor and Signed Could spasm the muscles on her back like a horse does to shake off flies. She was so warm hearted, my mom, her Aunt Steffi always felt a special bond with her as well. It's comforting to think about Loren, Mary Ruth, Steffi, Uncle Lane, Sandra, (the sister she never knew), Cousin Richard, and rest of the Hammack rascals that made it to heaven eating, talking, arguing, laughing.....with Signe on her spirit horse enjoying the scene and St Peter just shaking his head.

Just wanted you to know there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of you. Thank you for all the letters you sent me while I was in Vietnam; I never told you how much that helped me get home.
You and our memories will always be burned in my memory.
RIP
Always,
Keitt

Kelly,
I don't know you and I didn't know your mom, either. I watched the story about what happened to your mom and I wanted to reach out to you and say how very sorry I am you had to go through this. Your mom sounded like a really nice person. I lived in Arlington for many years so I guess it kind of hit a nerve with me.
I hope you are doing better.

I will take responsibility for teaching Signe how to shoot a shotgun and boy she was a natural for the beginning. I took her dove hunting with and some of the guys I dove hunted with.

One of them, Richard Schreider, was impressed with her shooting; the short of it was that she out shot some of the regulars that day and any time we went.
A great memory of her and shooting; our time was too short together.

Love you always Sig,
Keitt

I don't guess there's a day that goes by that I don't think of the day I left for Vietnam and all the letters Signe wrote me during those times in Vietnam.
She was a dear dear person to me and my life.

Forever

Signe and I had a special "cousins" relationship from the time we met (her 5 and me 2 1/2) until her tragic death. Although we lived miles apart physically and politically, we became ever closer emotionally the older we got. We shared life experiences and hurts and joys and wishes that few other people understood. She had an extraordinarily huge heart for family, friends, and animals for the too short time she was here. Even strangers were often touched by her big smile and perky beauty. Our loss is heaven's gain, and we can only hope she now has the ease and comfort that was sadly so elusive during her physical existence.

Kelly, don't ever forget how much you showed your love and concern for her in your way. I'm so glad you finally found a life partner who has a big heart to help you through this horrific loss.

Kelly I have known your mom since 2000 as a Rays Pharmacy customer and a friend to me. She was a awesome lady that would help anybody. Words can not explain how I feel. I am so very sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this horrific time. I know God has a plan .

I knew her as my customer at Kennedale Cleaners and as a neighbor in Kennedale. Her daughter also went to school with my daughter. Signe was a great person and my prayers are with the family. God Bless You.
