One of my childhood memories growing up 2 doors down from the Gacek's was coming over and watching Mr.G. wrenching a car in the garage while he had the Indians or Browns game on his portable radio. The radio was nothing special, just a simple transistor radio in a brown leather case. Chuck Gacek didn't need/want anything fancy because that was the kind of man he was. It's unfortunate for me that I wasn't mechanically inclined back then because I could have learned how to fix a car-FOR FREE! I remember having trouble replacing the headlight on my 82 Cutlass Calais. Screw head looked like a Phillips or allen wrench and neither worked. Went and got Mr. G., looked at it, went back home and gave me a star head screwdriver. PROBLEM SOLVED! I remember him playing basketball on the concrete pad he had poured at the rear of the garage w/Casey's friends, his cousin John Paull and us kids in the neighborhood.
