Nelda Moore Obituary

Published by Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery on Sep. 5, 2013.
MOORE, NELDA ELAINE PIERCE born on June 09, 1932 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on September 05, 2013 in Conroe, Texas. She is survived by her son, Alger Moore, III and wife, Carole; daughters, Cynthia Moore Pullin and husband, Gordon, and Susan Pitchford; sister, Oleta Kennington; brothers, James Pierce and wife, Joyce; grandchildren, Jonathan Moore, Ken Kaminski and wife, Peyton, Tiffany Pullin, ShanAn Jones and husband, Matthew, and Courtney Pitchford; and great grandchild, Caroline Kaminski. Nelda married her high school sweetheart, Alger, and they remained married for 64 years. She was very involved with family, friends, and church. Nelda lived in Dallas until 1971 and then moved to the Houston area. She started several businesses including a real estate brokerage, a property management company, and an ice company. Family was extremely important to Nelda and Alger. There were always Sunday dinners with family, birthday dinners where the special person got to pick their favorite dinner and cake. Any holiday like Christmas, Easter, or Thanksgiving were also joyful times of food and fellowship. Nelda always showered love on each person that was there. She always wanted her grand kids to feel special and would let them be a part of the cooking and preparation, including ringing the dinner bell. She wanted them to feel like they had contributed to the special events. Nelda accepted Christ at age nine and spent the rest of her life in service to her Heavenly Father. She never met a stranger and her whole life she gave a hand up or invited anyone who was in need into her home. She was a member of Woodlands Church and served in many capacities throughout the years. Services will be at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior in the chapel.
