Isaac Eugene McLemore Sr., age 71 of Maryville passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at Parkwest Medical Center. He retired from US Army with 24 years of service. He was a 1st Bn 506th in 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell. He served two tours in Vietnam, retired from A Co. 2nd General Hospital in Kaiserslautern, Germany after an extended tour of duty. After returning to Maryville, he retired in May 2012 as a Blount County Schools bus driver. He attended Everett High School. Preceded in death by: Parents, Willis & Ethel McLemore; Brother, Edward Lee; Sisters, Sally McClung, Carolyn McLemore Thompson. Survivors include: Loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn Faye McLemore; Son, Isaac Jr. & Denise McLemore of Asheville, NC; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Tricia & Dennis Gravel of Beaufort, SC; Felicia & Scott Hopkins of Maryville, and Melanie Freeman of Alcoa; 10 Grandchildren; Brothers & Sisters-in-law, Tom & Pat McLemore, Ronald & Paula McLemore, David & Brenda McLemore, Glen & Sylvia McLemore, and Beryl McClung; Sisters, Eleanor Hobbs and Virginia Cox; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Family and friends will assemble at 9:30 AM, Friday, December 6, 2013 at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for the interment with full military honors. Yes, there was Issac and Dick and Doctor Brody, all of them always in good humor and always helping. Our friendships continued long after our tours at Landstuhl when I was Chief Surgeon for a few years, one the best 5 years in my career. Both Isaac and Dick visited Nancy and me at our home in Hasting, MN 20 years later I think of Isaac often. Dona Nobis Pacem !
