Martha Anne Myers

Myers, Martha Hamilton died Sunday, February 16, at the age of 92; born in Waco, Texas, on December 28, 1921 to Richard and Annie Estes Hamilton. She married Eli Myers in 1938, and they moved to Dallas where they raised four children and were longtime members of Park Cities Baptist Church. Until she moved to Arlington in 2005, she was a faithful member of the Joy Class at Park Cities. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dick; sister, Louise; and husband, Eli in 1990. She is survived by daughter, Patty Porter (John) of Arlington; son, Michael (Karen) of Fort Worth; daughter, Judy Pettibone (Bill) of Humble; son, Richard (Janie) of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Pamela Porter Carmona (Arlington), Katie Porter Feldhaus (Russell Springs, KY); Patrick Pettibone (Houston); Amy Pettibone Simpson (Austin); Emily Myers Wood (Prosper), Andy Myers (McKinney); Mallory Myers Green (Las Vegas); great grandchildren, Daniel Carmona, Claire Feldhaus, Lillie Feldhaus, Molly Wood, Tate Wood, Zeke Myers and Elise Green; and many nieces and nephews. Our beloved mother loved us fiercely, supported us totally, and established a home that was a safe and welcoming place for friends in all circumstances. She was the matriarch for the Myers and Hamilton families, keeping us together and close. She loved her church and the many lifelong friends she made there, and most of all she loved her Lord, living a life that served as a Christian model. Her legacy will live on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial will be at Restland at 10:00 am Thursday, February 20, and a memorial service will be at 1:00 pm in Ellis Chapel at Park Cities Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the church.
