Dear Scarso family, My name is Barbara Bates I was very shocked and sad to hear the passing of Joe. I worked with him as a law enforcement officer at Pahokee Police Department.Joe and I had quite a few laughs and he was great support to me when I first started with the agency. He always was willing to help when needed and always went above and beyond the call of duty to help anyone when needed. He was always there to back me up on traffic stops, calls etc. We shared a lot of laughs and he always expressed how much he loved his family especially his son JR. Joe was a true family man and a dear friend we will forever hold close to our hearts. He will be missed dearly but his memories will live on forever. It was a true honor for me to have worked with him and become a good friend..I am terribly sorry for your loss and I will forever keep all of you in thoughts and prayers..(RIP JOE forever in our hearts)!!

Dear Scarso Family,

I am so shocked to hear his name mentioned in church of the loss of Joe! He was such a nice guy and was fun to be with for the short time we dated. He adored his son. It has been a long time since I last saw him, but often wondered how he was. You have my deepest sympathy, I know he will be missed by all that knew him!!!! Terri
