Blaine Allen Tucker, 48, a kind and humble Kansas City area businessman died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 9, 2014. An entrepreneur at heart, Blaine helped build some of the most successful restaurants and technology companies in the Kansas City area. But above all, he was a devoted family man that adored his wife, Nereyda, his beautiful daughter, Bianca, and his large, extended family. Blaine was born in Kansas City, Missouri, to Norma and Robert Tucker. He attended Rockhurst and Shawnee Mission South High Schools and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Business Administration. Known by friends and family for his enormous generosity, Blaine supported many local charities, most notably the Children's Miracle Network. He was a man always concerned for others with a knack for benevolence. And he was funny. His wry and witty sense of humor went unsurpassed, but never at the expense of others. It was always more fun when Blaine was in the room. Blaine was passionate about sports and his energy will definitely be missed this weekend at the Big XII Basketball Tournaments. An enthusiastic distance runner later in life, he often enjoyed training and competing at various distances, completing his first marathon in Las Vegas in 2011 in front of family and friends. Blaine's notorious love affair with music saw him evolve from lead singer in a high school band to DJ'ing at various establishments throughout college, ultimately expanding his empire to include a flourishing mobile DJ company. Needless to say, he was king of karaoke. A gracious host to anyone he met, Blaine was often busy entertaining others at Chiefs', Royals' and KC Sporting games and concerts. He was a man who would never waste money on bad Mexican food. His passion for the food business was realized through several partnerships in popular local restaurants. Blaine was preceded in death by his father, Robert Walter Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Nereyda; daughter, Bianca; mother, Norma Tucker; brothers, Scott (Kim) and Joel Tucker; brother-in-law, Julian Nunez (Ashley); nieces and nephews, Lili, Sydney, Jia, and Quinn Tucker and Carmela and LJ Nunez; uncles, James Simmons and John Walton; aunt, JoAnn Walton; and a world of true friends and family too numerous to name. We love you B. A funeral service for Blaine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS. Entombment will immediately follow at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens – Indoor Garden of Memories. The family will greet friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the Johnson County Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater Kansas City at CMNKC.org.

Scott, Norma, Joel. I am Extremely sad, I just found out that Blaine departed from his body. But his soul will always live with his loved ones. He was "One of the BEST Bosses I ever had". He used to call me "Gold Finger", and I would call him "Dr. No". I really regarded him as my elder brother. My humble regards to HIM. Rest in peace brother.

Blaine was a good man and he will be missed terribly by all those who knew him. Blaine always went out of his way to support others through charity or simply by being upbeat and a positive influence. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family as well as all who knew Blaine.

The first time I met Blaine he was gently escorting his grandmother. He always had a selfless and comforting way about him. I was amazed at his perseverance and determination when he took up jogging to change his health and life.
Blaine, we are all better off having known you, you took it up another Level. You will be missed.

Nerita and Bianca, we are so sorry for your loss. We only knew Blaine as the proud father sitting on the sidelines or school events, but what a great way to know a man. His smile will be missed and the two of you are in our hearts.

Blaine was a member of Crackerjack Theatre when he was in high school. He was such a talented, fun young man.I so enjoyed his rendition of "I Can't Get Off of My Horse" with his big hat! Sending my thoughts to the family.

Our heart goes out to the Tucker family. Blaine's generous spirit blessed our daughter Elise in so many ways. Elise often traveled with the Tucker family, and Blaine treated her like his own daughter.

I will always remember exchanging tips and stories about our running experiences. Blaine always took time to ask about my races and to offer a bit of encouragement.

He was a loving father and never missed the girls' sports games. I can picture him cheering in the stands for his beautiful daughter, Biana. He will be greatly missed.

There are moments in life that give us pause and remind us of our mortality. Many times those moments come with tremendous regret about not taking more time to stop and enjoy those around us and the seemingly insignificant things we take for granted. I had the great pleasure of knowing Blaine through business, but never the pleasure of getting to know him as others did. My experiences with Blaine make me regret not taking more time to know a person who has meant so much to so many. May peace find the hearts of his family. Godspeed Blaine.
