Mr. Donald Robert "Bob" Maxwell

Donald R. "Bob" Maxwell, 89, of Mountainside, NJ, died March 19, 2015. Bob's life celebration and visitation will be Sunday March 22nd, from 2:00-5:00PM at Gray Funeral Directors, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield, where his funeral service will begin at 11AM Monday, March 23, 2015. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Please go to www.grayfuneralhomes.com to view a tribute of Bob's life. Born in Westfield, Bob owned and operated Don Maxwell , a furniture refinishing and upholstery business in Mountainside. A veteran of the US Army during World War II, he was a longtime member of the Westfield Rotary club, joining in 1948. Bob was an early member of the Mountainside Rescue Squad. He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude Schweitzer Maxwell, and father of the late Dorothy Ann Maxwell Hall. He is survived by his son: Donald J. "Max" Maxwell and his wife Katharine "Kati", two grandchildren: Kaitlyn Ann Desiderio and her husband David, and Donald L. Maxwell and his wife Ashley, and son-in-law: Peter Hall.
