Our prayers and thoughts go to Renea and the family. I will always remember John for his soft spoken demeanor and love for Jesus Christ. He was a young man of high moral character and integrity. On the basketball court he worked hard and did his best; he was a leader among his peers. I am thankful to have spent a few years with John and Renea. Will never forget the games, travel, and experience being a part of the Evangel High School Eagles athletic program. I pray God will provide comfort to all the family. Remember the special times spent with John. Know that soon those who believe in Jesus Christ as John did will be reunited with a special celebration. God bless Coach Hembree Galatians 6:9

Dearest Renea,
its with a saddened heart i read a facebook note, of your loss.
He was a great witness for Jesus, and his family.
I had seen John several times, over the years, he
was always upbeat and sharing the latest news of his family.
My fondist memories were of us as younger men in the youth groups of Evangel Tabernacle, occasionally playing sports in that church.
We all knew each other and socialized in that church setting.
Celebrating his life in JESUS, and knowing Salvation, leaves us all at peace.

Because he lives, JESUS, we can face tomorrow!

May the Holy Spirit be your, ROCK, and give you strength and comfort everyday, LOVE for your children and family.
Your friend in Jesus,
Terry W. Thacker

I had the pleasure of working closely with John at Mercer and what a pleasure it truly was, John was one of the friendliest, kindest and most genuine people I've ever met and it was my honor to know him. John will be missed by so many but to be present with the Lord is something we can all pray for and John is walking with him now and forever. My prayers go out to Johns family and to everyone that was impacted by knowing such a caring individual.

I had the pleasure to mentor John when we both worked at Dayton Freight - He was a pleasure to work with, no job I gave him was left undone - He worked the dock for me then city driver then came into the dispatch office with me - He worked the afternoon shift and I do not believe there was a better dispatcher in the city of Louisville. - I was so pleased when was given the chance to be Terminal Manager in Evansville, In. He earned it and was a great employee for Dayton Freight - My deepest regrets to his entire family, he was a great guy taken from you way to soon. May he rest in peace.

John will be missed at Mercer greatly. He was a great friend and I personally am thankful for him opening his house to me and my son to fish at and me getting to know him outside of work as well as meeting Bob and getting to listen to his fishing stories. It is sad that he is gone from this world but it is wonderful to know that he is experiencing what God has promised to those that have accepted Him as their saviour. If there is anything that I can do please let me know.

I enjoyed our bantering about Football teams; John a Colts fan, myself an avid Jets fan. John would also send me Flag Posts for face book. We didn't see each other once I left Louisville, KY, but were brought together on FB and forged some fond memories. He will be missed.

Renea and Family,

Are thoughts and prayers have been with you all since we heard of Johns entering into the gates of Heaven. I realize that this week and the days and weeks to follow will not be easy. But you have to cherish the time and memories that you have had with you husband, dad, grandpa, and brother. Taylor this is especially for Samuel, you may think that he will not know your dad but believe me he will. He will learn about John through the memories that you and others share about your dad. Danny once said talked about the men in life that had influenced him. One of those men was his grandfather (who died a year before he was born), it has been the memories that people shared about him and those stories about him still influences his life today. May you all take comfort in the Lord.

Do not lose the courage you had in the past, which has a great reward. You must hold on, so you can do what God wants and receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:35-36

He gives strength to those who are tired and more power to those who are week... The people who trust the Lord will become strong again. They will rise up as an eagle in the sky; they will run and not need rest; they will walk and become tried. Isaiah 40:29,31
