Lucia M. (Teixeira) Ventura

Lucia M. (Teixeira) Ventura, 71, died Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Care One Nursing Home in Randolph after a period of failing health.  She was the wife of 50 years of Alvaro S. Ventura.  Born on the island of Terceira in the Azores of Portugal, she was raised and educated on Terceira.  She was a resident of Stoughton for over 50 years.  Mrs. Ventura worked at Plymouth Rubber and Thermafelt both in Canton and also at Garber Brothers in Stoughton.  Lucy was known as a strong caring woman who was always generous with her time and talents.  In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, baking cooking and traveling to Portugal and Australia.    She was the daughter of the late Antonio Teixeira who died in 1977 and mother Maria Borges who died in 2004. Lucy is the sister of Jorge Teixeira his wife Mary of Hudson MA. Fernando Teixeira and wife Margarida, Lourdes Leal husband Frank, Alberta Cardoso and her husband the late deceased Rafael, Ligia Silva husband Manuel, Herminia Sousa husband Jose all of Sydney Australia, Gabriela husband Fernando, Elsa Alves deceased husband Helio all from Terceira Portugal, Antonio Teixeira who died in 2004 his wife Florencia of Sydney Australia. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who she loved very much.   Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 11:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 12 Noon.  Visiting Hours Monday from 4-7 PM.  Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.  Donations in Lucy's memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 1324 Belmont St., Suite 204-101, Brockton, MA 02301, Autism Speaks, 990 Washington St., Suite 102, Dedham, MA 02026 or the Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
