Charles L. Wallace, 82, of Marissa, IL; born on September 27, 1934 in Kirkwood, MO; passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 after his courageous battle with cancer at his home surrounded by family. Charlie loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, spending time at the Club House, and enjoyed sharing stories with is round table buddies – fact or fiction. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and teaching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the love of outdoors. He was a coal minter, mechanic, and operating engineer. He was a member of the UMWA, the International Union of Operating Engineers and the Marissa Rod and Gun Club. He was preceded in death by his parents – Livingston and Anna, nee Farmer, Wallace. Three sisters – Blanche Neff; Lucille Mitze; Delow Fruth. Also preceded in death by dear friend Colleen Bogusch. He is survived by his son, Terry (Lisa) Lamoreaux of Peoria, AZ; daughters Kim (Mike) Sinn of Marissa, IL; Vickie (Clint) Nesler of Bridgeport, WV; Mitzi (Brian) Worrick of Sugar Land, TX; sons Brian Wallace of Smithton, IL; and Charlie (fiancé Christi Mueller) Wallace, Jr. of Afton, MO. Grandchildren – Christopher (Valerie) Sinn; Justin Sinn; Daniel (Jaden) Perez; Lucas (fiancé Alyssa Spielman) Nesler, Cory Mayo, Terry Lee (Gina) Lamoreaux, Jr.; William (Sue) Lamoreaux; Sean (Amanda) Lamoreaux; Teresa (Ryan) Enos; John Lamoreaux. Twenty one great-grandchildren. One sister Alice Waeltz of Belleville, IL. Also surviving are friend Brenda Bogusch and many nieces and nephews. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.heilschuessler.com. Memorials may be made to the Marissa Rod and Gun Club or to the family. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Southern Illinois and the wonderful hospice nurses. Visitation: Friends may call at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 9:00am to 11:00am. Funeral: Services will be held at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11:00am. Interment: Burial will be held in the Marissa Township Cemetery in Marissa, IL. Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home in Marissa, IL is in charge of arrangements.
