Daniel Cabral

Daniel Cabral, age 37 of Gloucester passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Dan was born in Gloucester, MA on February 15, 1979 son of the late Cathy (MacFarland) Cabral and Walter C. Cabral of Gloucester. Dan loved his years playing Pee Wee football, moving on to being lucky #44 for the Gloucester High School Fisherman. After graduating high school, Dan attended Plymouth State University where he was elected head of Omega Fraternity. Dan had countless friends that he dearly loved and was nicknamed "Dan the Heart" by many. Beyond his love for friends and family was infinite love for his beloved dog Leroy aka "Leboy." Dan would never hesitate to stop what he was doing and help a person in need. He was a completely selfless person and it was this personality that endeared him to all. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed running his fantasy football teams. He most especially loved the 49ers and Barry Sanders, his favorite player. Daniel is survived by his father Walter C. Cabral and companion Gayla DeCoste, brother Walter S. Cabral and his wife Abby, his nieces Brandi Cabral, Catherine Cabral, Naomi Cabral, Mariah "Katie" Cabral, godparents Joseph Giamanco and Patricia McCarthy, goddaughter Liana, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his constant companion Leroy. He was predeceased by his beloved mother Cathy D. Cabral, sister Tammie Cabral, maternal grandparents Norman and Faye MacFarland. Paternal grandparents George and Edna Cabral and a special nephew Christopher Wheeler. Dan's Memorial Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect St. Gloucester on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
