I worked with Rich for many years at the USAO. He was a gentle soul. I loved stopping by his office for a chat, he had a terrific perspective on difficult issues and always found the right solution. I will miss him.

Rich was like family to me. We spoke on the phone recently, on the eve of the NBA draft. We were both excited to know the Sixers were gonna get the No. 1 pick.
Obviously, the news of his passing has been a shock and a deep spiritual wound.
I want Laura and the children to know they can count on Uncle Ski and Aunt Sara for anything they might need, if it be in our power to provide it. Call on us ANY time.
I especially want Isabella, Tallia and Orion to know...Your father was a man of many gifts. Above all, he was incredibly smart. His lightening quick intelligence fueled both his riotous sense of humor and his respect for everyone, including those with obvious faults. His love for literature and skill as a writer were second to none. Remember these things about your father when your heart sinks and you long to be with him just one more time. Remember how much joy he found in playing soccer and many other simple pleasures (like fishing). These are the memories that will ease the pain of our loss. That, and the inevitable passage of time. Peace.
