Thomas Kerr Obituary
Mr. Kerr was a Manager at AT&T the former Ohio Bell Telephone company for more than 40 years before his retirement in 1995.
Tom was a proud US Army Veteran. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. In 1990 Tom was inducted into the inaugural class of Lake Catholic High School's Hall of Excellence in recognition of founding and leading the Bingo fundraising program for many years. Tom was also very active as a softball coach at the former Mentor Recreation Park and was instrumental in the establishment of the tournament games that are still being held at Mentor Garfield Park.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Rose M. (Valencic) Kerr, daughters: Kathy (Grant "Al") Alpaugh, Jean Kerr Korman, Julie (Michael) Rocco, Kristi (Zelimir) Marusic, grandchildren: Grant Alpaugh, Caleb (Yenita) Alpaugh, Alexandra Korman, Zachary (Samantha Cavaco) Korman, Daniel Rocco, Mariana Rocco, Thomas John Marusic, Julia Rose Marusic, great-grandchildren: Cameron, Ella and Olivia.
Tom was a devoted husband and father, and was the quintessential grandpa. He and Rose enjoyed golfing, skiing and travel.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Mary Kerr, brother John, and son-in-law: Todd Korman.
A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave. Mentor. Please meet at the church.
The family will receive friends 4-8 pm Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, OH.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Lake Catholic High School or St. Mary of the Assumption Church, or offer condolences at www.brunners.com

I am so sorry for your loss, I will always remember how Mr. Kerr would give all of us neighborhood kids raspberries from the garden. He was a wonderful neighbor to have and will be greatly missed.

i was sorry to hear of mr.kerr's passing. He was very active at lake catholic while I was a student there. he was also very much respected and liked by my parents, Jerry and Elaine Miller. He was a wonderful man who raised a wonderful family. my thoughts and prayers are with Mrs.Kerr and all the family at this very sad time.
