I AM GLENN LITZ , JOHN AND MY FATHER WERE IN THE NAVY TOGETHER AND WERE GOOD FRIENDS. FACT I GREW UP IN CHARLESTON WITH OUR FAMILIES DOING MANY FUN EVENTS TOGETHER, JOHN AND JUDY WERE CLOSE PLAYMATES. WE DID EVERYTHING FROM PLAYING ON THE SHIPS TO PLAYING IN THE PARK AND BEACHES. WE ALWAYS ENJOYED AS CHILDREN MORE-SO COMING TO CHARLESTON, IT WAS A REAL FUN TIME, BEACHES,EATING MANY GREAT DINNERS,VISITING THE SITES AND EVEN TOURING THE SHIPS AGAIN. LOVED THE MINE SWEEPERS GOT LOTS OF COOKIES. FACT EVEN WHEN I MARRIED SHIRLEY WE MADE IT A POSITIVE TO VISIT JOHN / JANE ON OUR HONEY MOON TRIP STAYING THERE FOR DAYS BEFORE GOING ON TO MIAMI / CARIBBEAN.
JOHN WAS A GREAT PERSON / FRIEND HE WILL BE MISSED AND ALWAYS HAVE A PLACE IN OUR HEARTS,ALONG WITH JANE, AND THE REST OF THE FAMILY.

I have very fond memories of your dad. He was one of the great generation and he lived it. I love all you girls and always felt I was still part of the greater family.

Sorry to read about John's death. He and his family were very good friends while we were raising our families. He was also a very good co-worker of mine in the Gyro Shop at CNSYD. I know he will be missed by many.

I am honored to have known Mr.Moniz as a friend. It was a privilege to be able to chat with him briefly just a few weeks ago. I dropped in when I noticed the front door open. He shook my hand and smiled but I new he wasn't his old self. When we talked in the past it was always about Judy's and John's high school years. the shipyard, and of course golf. He had a charming personality and loved his family as hard as one can love. He would have waded through hell for any of them. That's what men like John do. He was a shining example of what fathers and husbands should be That's why Johnnie turned out to be such a good man. And to the three girls, well, he was a knight in shining armor. He'd make sure they were cared for. He would rescue his princesses from goblins and scary things in the night and protect them from mean boys. He'd wipe a tear from their cheeks and tell them it would be alright while they fell asleep in the protective comfort of his arms. He's at peace now with God and his beautiful bride. John Moniz, a man for other men to look up to.
