I may be one of the few here for whom Andy was NOT a therapist -- he was just a very dear friend and in so many ways, a therapeutic one at that. His humor and calm, even-tempered manner always helped me put things in a better perspective. The many conversations we had in areas I otherwise would have paid scant attention to -- religion, the Bible, mythology and others -- opened up new learning and insights for me, as well as others he touched. After he became more limited, we would occasionally go out for lunch together. And though he had some trouble carrying on the conversation, there was never a doubt that this was still Andy. His good soul always shone through. We've missed him for the past 12 years and will continue to miss him forever. Deepest condolences to Kay and all the family.

Andy was my therapist, spiritual director, and most of all my beloved friend. I do believe his Spirit will live on through those of us who were blessed to have him in our lives. He was a truly gifted man, with humility and humor. To Kay, Sarah, John and his family, thank you for sharing him with so many of us. The world has lost a great soul.

Andy was my therapist and friend since the 1970's He saw me through a good percentage of my adult life, always a voice of calm and leveling presence. His good friend, Morton Kelsey, was a profound influence on both of us, and Andy always passed along Morton's council in our sessions. I last saw Andy a couple of years ago after he was disabled. I took him to lunch and we shared past memories. I brought along Morton's book, The Other Side of Silence and began reading one of the familiar meditations at the back of the book. Andy completed the final words of the meditation and we both experienced a wonderful moment. Andy was a fine person and an inspired soul. He will be sorely missed. I extend my sympathies to Kay and the family plus all of us who remember him and appreciated his life.

Andy was a most capable opponent in our race for CBHS student government 51 years ago, and those memories are special to me. He was missed at the recent 50 year reunion in Memphis, and by the "brotherhood" in attendance.
Rest in Peace, my friend!
