Sarah Kathy Mattesi

Sarah "Kathy" Mattesi of Pelham, New York, passed away on Friday, June 1st, 2018. She was 71 Years old. Sarah was born in Manhattan and was raised in the Bronx. She attended Mabel Dean Bacon Vocational High School. It was while attending High School she met her husband of 56 Years Joseph Mattesi. They would later marry in 1962. Kathy and Joseph moved to Pelham where there they raised their five children. While raising her family Kathy became actively involved in the community. She cared deeply for her family and the Town of Pelham. She coached basketball with the Pelham Recreation Dept. and was actively involved in the Town of Pelham Republican Party. She was also a member of the PTA. In her spare time Kathy loved to go on cruises. She loved Puerto Rico where she enjoyed swimming and snorkeling. Kathy will be remembered as a selfless and wonderful mother. She was generous to all. She loved to give and was always there to lend a helping hand. Kathy leaves behind her husband Joseph, her children Michael Mattesi (Leah), Joseph Mattesi, Anthony Mattesi, Desiree Hanlon (Jeff) and Denise Mattesi; her grandchildren Daniel Mattesi, Johnathon Mattesi, Joseph Anthony Mattesi, Matthew Mattesi, Joseph Alexander Mattesi, Amanda Mattesi, Antonio Golfo, Hunter Lyons, Audrey Hanlon and Madeline Hanlon. She will be missed by everyone she knew. A celebration of Kathys life will take place Sunday June 3rd from 3-8pm at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Avenue in Pelham NY. A Funeral mass will take place at 10:00 am on Monday June 4th at St. Catharines Church located at 25 second Avenue in Pelham New York Interment will be private.
