Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Shelby McBrayer.. I worked with Shelby for 16 years and saw everyday how hard he worked and what he accomplished at the end of each day. He set a good example of duty and devotion not only at work but also serving our country's military and his family. Shelby was also instrumental in helping to start the Modern Employees Federal Credit Union which has helped no telling how many over the years and continues today.

Isaiah 40:31 King James Version (KJV)
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Shelby was a fine man and a good friend, generous and caring. We will miss him. Rest easy in the arms of the Lord.

So sorry for your loss. We were blessed to be their neighbors from 1984-1987 and they were so kind to us.
Shelby and Janetta even made friends with my parents and visited them in Florida. We all have wonderful memories of our times with them. He will truly be missed.
Fondly, Ward and Sandy Allen

We were so sorry to hear about Uncle Shelby's passing. What a loving, family man and a great inspiration to those in his church and community. I know the "cousins have many fond memories of his beautiful farm and the Christmas Eve gatherings that took place there. Uncle Shelby's legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

The McBrayers were our across the street neighbors during 1984-1987 when we lived in Philpot. I always remember his kind heart and amazing work ethic, not too mention the ice cream sandwiches he shared with us amongst my siblings! Nothing but great memories!

Will be missed by many. Always was my favorite uncle and friend. He taught me how to drive and many other life skills. A true Christian man with a heart of Gold. My grandmother and mom gave me the opportunity to know Shelby, Janetta and my cousins as one big family. Loved being on the farm and enjoyed the hay rides and learning to grow up in a loving family. Very thankful and very blessed. Thank you always!

He was my neighbor. Such a sweet man, friendly and kind to all, and giving. Anytime I would walk by his house he would call me over to chat.
I'm sorry for your loss. He will be missed.

Praying for the family. I truly loved Shelby. He was chairman of the search committee that called me to Sugar Grove. I cannot say enough about his generosity and the joy I experienced serving beside him. I weep for you the family but rejoice in his homegoing. Bro J R Hume
