Phillip A. Cerelli Obituary

Published by D'Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall on Apr. 3, 2019.
Cerelli Phillip A. "Phil", age 76 of Havertown, on April 3, 2019. Survived by his beloved wife Linda (nee Antonelli). His children; Kristina Sumey (Randy), Michael A., and Phillip A. Jr. (Katrina); Grandfather of Nicole (Hanz), Justin (Jess), Christopher, Matthew, Alyssa (Aaron), Nicholas, Leigha, Christian, Isabella, Kayliana, and his Great Grandchildren, Christian, Luca, Avianna, Sabrina, Reya, Sienna, Tatum, and Dax-Ryan, brother of Marie Cerelli, and his favorite companions Rambo and Mack his German Shepherds. In a hundred lifetimes there will never be another Phil Cerelli! Overbrook, Philadelphia native, Army Veteran Phillip Cerelli Sr. died Wedneday, April 3rd at his Havertown home. To know him was to love him and he was extremely loved by his ever growing family. In his earlier days, Phil was a brilliant carpenter/contractor and car wash owner. After retiring, he basically drove his wife and kids crazy, as expected, filling his days with loud conversations, screaming grandchildren who called him "Pop-A-Dee", laughter, and lots of good food including his love for fine dining in the city. Being the odd Italian American who allegedly didn't like Garlic, he lived his life in denial, enjoying Sunday gravy secretly infused with it prepared by generational royalty since birth. Fun to be around on good days, stubborn as a bull, he lived a Frank Sinatra worthy life and did it his way! Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Thursday, April 11th , 9:30-10:45AM with service to follow at 11AM all in the MAIN CHAPEL of the Danjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA. Inurnment Private.

In a world of few originals, this man was a legend! People will tell Phil Cerelli stories into infamy. Thank you Phil, for the gift of your fascinating children, the legacy of your perfect grandchildren and the line of your family which will gather around a table filled with Italian feasts and sing the songs of your epic adventures. I thank God I lived in your lifetime! Rest in Paradise, you have certainly earned it, and I'm sure I hear the sound of God's laughing you catch him up on your time here!

Richard M Grasso, Knowing Chrissy is knowing that this was a good Man, a good Father, and everything else that comes with living a good life! Today I pray as her friend, that she will get thru this, the hurt, the longing to see him and remember him! It's hard, it's very hard! We wish the entire family all the Love and healing one can muster at this time, with great sympathy...The Emeralds, Memory Lane, Philly's Best, and the guys, "From Philly"!!! We will be there!
