So sorry to hear of your passing. Your presence and involvement in the EIU Sigma Pi chapter and the national organization was greatly appreciated. Your dedication in everything you did, including the fraternity, was admirable. You set the bar very high for other alums. Hopefully others have used your example so that the fraternity can prosper.

HAVE MANY MEMORIES OF ELI DURING MY TIME IN CHARLESTON WHEN WE OWNED THE FLOWER SHOP AND HE WAS SO INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY. HE WAS ALWAYS SUCH AN OUTSTANDING YOUNG MAN WITH INTEGRITY WITH A GREAT SMILE! HE DID SO MUCH FOR OTHERS! I KNOW HIS PRESENCE WILL ME GREATLY MISSED BY ALL THOSE WHO KNEW AND LOVED HIM. TO ANN AND THE FAMILY:
MAY YOU FIND PEACE AND COMFORT IN THE LORD AND HIS LIFE WELL LIVED!
SINCERELY,
GLENNA (COFFEY) HIETT

Eli was one of the first people I met when we moved to CHARLESTON in 1981. He was thoughtful, kind and wise. He calmly approached every obstacle in life. It was a privilege to know and care for him thru the years. I know he is with the Lord as the apostle Paul said to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Roger Rives

I would like to send my deepest condolences to the Sidwell family. The boys LaBou, Lee, and Louis and myself enjoyed having Mr. Roswell as a landlord as well as a friend to our family. He will be greatly missed. May God take this heavy burden off the family as well as the pain. God bless.

Eli was the persona of a devout religious family man, business entrepreneur and community stalwart. But even more importantly, he was a true friend, advisor and supporter to so many, including myself. May God hold the family close and give comfort at this difficult time. My heartfelt condolences to Ann, Jamie, Melanie and Trey and their families. Rest in peace, my friend.
