Thomas Leto Perkins

Thomas Leto Perkins "Tommy" was born on April 8, 1958. He met his heavenly father on February 3, 2021 at his lifelong home in Independence, Louisiana. Tommy was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. He embodied the spirit of a caregiver and a protector and exemplified that through his family, friends and neighbors. Jesus and family took precedence over anything else in his life. Tommy was a loyal friend and showed his concern for people by always being willing to help. Tommy loved his niece and nephew like his own children. He had a great love for martial arts and music. He loved playing bass guitar, singing, and karaoke. Thomas is survived by his mother, Tina Leto Perkins; son, Christopher Rowe; sisters, Tammy Perkins Amar (who Tommy called "kid") and Brenda Sajourner (Mike); nieces/nephews, Jessica Hung (Zachary) and Justin Ridgel (Shelby); aunt, Mary Ida Dyer; cousins, Richard Russell (Debra), Glenn Russell and Brittany Desselle (Al) and three great nieces/nephews who he adored. He is greeted in heaven by his wife, Barbara Perkins; his dad, Thomas U. Perkins; and his grandparents, Cosmo and Mary Leto, and Mary Ann and William Perkins. Visitation for Family and Friends will be on Sunday, February 7, 2021, from 11:30 am until the Funeral Service begins at 2:30 pm, at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, La. 70401. Interment will follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence, Louisiana.
