Waltham – Mr. Frank T. Peace, Sr. died Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in his Waltham home surrounded by his loving family. He was 76. He was born and raised in Waltham, a son of the late Frank and Genevieve (Costello) Peace and was a graduate of Waltham High School. Shortly after their marriage Frank and his wife Karen moved to Newton Centre where they raised their family and where Frank lived before returning to his native Waltham three years ago. Until his retirement he worked as the production control manager for the Parker-Hannifin Company. He'd started there almost forty years earlier when it was known as Waltham's W.H. Nichols Company. In April, 1986, Frank's wife and the love of his life, Karen, died following a five year battle with cancer. Widowed at the age of 41, Frank poured his heart and soul and life into being the best father he could for his four kids. And he did it well. Filled with love, determination and a fair amount of trepidation Frank did his best to be both mom and dad at home and a steadfast provider at work. After he retired from Parker-Hannifin he worked as the sexton at First Parish in Brookline where his affable nature earned him many friends. Throughout his life Frank found great peace, light, joy and refreshment being outside . . . as a hunter, fisherman, bird watcher, gardener and maple sugar producer. Trips to York, Maine were always welcome respites and locally he became an expert 'eagle watcher' at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. His passion for photography earned him many accolades for his skill at capturing beautiful moments in nature. The husband of the late Karen E. (Aiken) Peace, he leaves his children, Karen E. Cernadas (Alejandro) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Frank T. Peace, Jr. of Marlborough, Jennifer L. Peace Santos (Florisvaldo) of Hampton Bays, New York and Thomas M. Peace of Allston; his grandchildren, Samantha Karen Peace, Daniel Francis Peace, Arianna Logan Peace, Thomas Joseph Brooks, and Kali Candace Brooks; his brother, William E. Peace of South Dennis; his longtime companion, Elsa Lichman and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Frank was also a brother of the late David W. Peace. Family and friends will honor and remember Frank's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, July 12th, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady's Parish, 920-R Trapelo Road, Waltham, MA 02452 or online at www.olca.org

We were blessed with the gift of time together In retirement for thrilling adventure, love, and the glorious mundane. Memories are vivid, signs many; this late in life connection unexpected. Frank had a way of making a trip to the supermarket hilarious. We laughed. Got silly, argued. And shared all aspects of life. He supported all of my ventures, and was well loved by many. A man,s man w a strong feminine side. Putting others first. And humble. There for the tough times. My Frank.

I knew Frank Peace, while living with my Uncle in Newton, in the years of 2012 - 2014, and in later years.

I assisted Frank with leaf raking, during Fall seasons, along with other outside home tasks during the year.

Frank treated me well, so enjoyed Frank's affable personality during the short time known.

I could tell Frank raised a loving family, with beloved wife Karen, in their fine home on Centre Street Newton.

An honor and privilege to have known Frank, who will be missed.

Sincere condolences to the Peace family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Frank at First Parish in Brookline.
One year he tapped the sugar maple in the front yard of the church and made syrup from it. Frank brought that syrup to the church's pancake breakfast. Sweetness made from the church's own space by a man who cared so much about the people who came together there.
A perfect gift.

I am so grateful for the care with which Frank watched over our buildings and grounds at First Parish in Brookline. His departure from the job left an enormous void, and I can only imagine how much bigger the loss is to his family and close friends now that he has passed on. I believe his last name matched his personality. Thank you for sharing him with us!
