Daniel (Dan) Joseph Mancuso, born on December 26, 1946, originally from Oakland and most recently Bethel Park, passed away on November 9, 2021. Son of the late Ida Mae and Sam Mancuso, son-in-law to Charles Fascetti and the late Grace Fascetti, husband to Debbie Mancuso, father to Danny (Carey) Mancuso, brother of the late Merilee (Mike) DiPippa, brother-in-law to Cindy (Barry) Rack, Tina (Tom) DeLorenzo, the late Chuckie Fascetti, the late Robert (Carol) Fascetti, uncle to Laura (Rodney) Richardson, Michael DiPippa and many great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, Dan took pride in his family above all else. He hosted events all summer by the pool, talked sports, especially Pitt football and the Steelers, and always threw in a political zinger to get a rise out of the family. Colloquially known in the family as Uncle Dan, "UD", or Uncle Potty Mouth, Dan always brought a ray of happiness and joy into any room. He served as an Honor Guard during the Vietnam War, guarding both the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and John F. Kennedy's grave. This was an integral part of his life that brought him great honor and joy. He was many good things, but family and friends would say that he was the glue that held everyone together. His sense of humor and wit were unmatched. He was a confidant when you needed it, would lift you up when you were sad, celebrate your wins and give advice whether you asked for it or not. He was generous in every way. Above all else, Dan was genuine, non-judgmental, a loving husband, and the best father. He will be greatly missed, but his influence, generosity, and love is something that will continue to live on for many years. Family and friends are welcome Friday, 2-8 pm WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. 15220. Funeral Mass, Saturday 10 am at St. Thomas More Church, Resurrection Parish. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of sending flowers, please donate to the Society of the Honor Guard Tomb of the Unknown Soldier SHGTUS, PO Box 1111, Hermitage, PA 16148. www.slaterfuneral.com

Dan was, as you all know, a unique individual. Most everybody that posts here will mention his generosity as will I now. I come to Pittsburgh periodically to attend a PITT basketball game. I would ask friends to meet at the Oyster House. I would have to fight Dan to allow me to pay the check. I think he won more often than me. If you had a beer at the Red Bricks reunion, thank Dan, your buzz was on him. I exchanged many stories of our experiences over the years about The Village , Central Catholic and the military. I loved this man and I will miss him dearly.
