Peter Billetta Obituary

Published by Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Funeral Home on Nov. 19, 2021.
Peter F. Billetta "Perry" of Collegeville, and a former longtime resident of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Friday November 19, 2021. He was 84 years old. Born August 23, 1937 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Philip and Sadie (nee Falco) Billetta, and the beloved husband of the late Antoinette "Nettie" (nee DeMito) Billetta. Perry was born and raised in Norristown, PA. He met the love of his life in grade school, where he instantly knew Nettie was the one. You didn't need to know Perry for very long before you knew that he put Nettie on a pedestal. The love he had for Nettie was like something straight from a movie; so pure, loyal, and as beautiful as it comes. Throughout his adult life, he took on many hobbies and passions. Two of which he was most known for was his love of hunting and yard sales. He loved to go "up the mountains" as he would say, but it was so much more than that. It was truly about the company in which he cooked many meals and shared many stories with his buddies to last a lifetime. And anyone that knew Perry, knew that if you needed something, he had at least ten of what you needed; all thanks to his top-notch skills of bargaining at any and all yard sales and his famous punchline, "Don't Worry See Perry". Perry worked at Handy & Harman Tube Co. for 43 years, retiring in 2001. He served in the US Army, where he was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska, and honorably discharged in 1958. Perry and Nettie married on September 5th, 1958, and would soon begin having their children and creating their beautiful life together. Perry is survived by his four children; Kathy Korsen (Ed), Philip Billetta (Carol), Toni Alderfer (Kevin) and Terri Billetta, 11 grandchildren; Kristalyn, Philip "PJ" (Erin), Karalyn (Kevin), Anthony, Joshua, Rebecca, Iverson, Ryan, Dominic, Jessica, and Joseph, five great grandchildren; Grace, Allison, Emma, Jameson, and Ava, sister MaryAnn Giandomenico, sisters-in-law Kathy Billetta, Loretta DeMito, Kitty Smith, and brother-in-law Jerry Smith, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Billetta, and brothers-in-law Leon Giandomenico, Henry DeMito (the late Roberta) and Joseph DeMito. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Perry's Life Celebration on Wednesday November 24, from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Monsignor John Marine, and will begin at 11 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Norristown. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Perry's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

To all of Perry's children and surviving family, my condolences on his passing. My mom & dad (Snookie and Anne Marie) were lifelong family friends. I have lots of memories being at your house when we were kids. Even though we moved to Las Vegas in the 70's, our families remained good friends. Your dad went to St Pat's cemetery and made sure there weren't any issues with my mom being laid to rest there. Leave it to Perry. My dad really loved him. From our family to yours, Karen, Anthony & Joe.
