Ilda Palmarini Obituary

Published by D'Anjolell Stigale Memorial Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of Aston on Nov. 19, 2021.
Ilda B. Palmarini passed away peacefully on Nov. 19, 2021 after a short illness. Ilda was born in Mosciano Sant'Angelo, a town and comune of the province of Teramo in the Abruzzo region of eastern Italy. She was the daughter of the late Domenic and Maria (Iobbi) Bonaduce. In 1971 she immigrated to the United States with her husband the late Corradino Palmarini and their young son Giuseppe and later settled in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia. There she found a community of family, friends and neighbors whom she cherished. She was a devoted member of St. Donato's Parish. Ilda worked in the textile industry most of her life, retiring in 2001. Ilda loved the city of Philadelphia and regularly took public transportation to enjoy her adopted city. She moved to Drexel Hill in 2004 and enjoyed taking the trolley to Media, PA as well. Ilda kept active with friends and family, cooking and participating in her many traditions including making Easter Bread and Caggionetti. Nonna inspired the family tradition of tomato day which her family and friends continue each August. Nonna oversaw the basil brigade in her later years. She was not only blessed with cousins, in-laws and a niece and nephew in America, but a loving family in her home country. Ilda loved to keep in touch and spoke often to her family in Italy. Ilda is the sister of the late Sabatino Bonaduce. She also is survived by her sisters Giuseppina and Rosario as well as her brother Luigi and many nieces and nephews in Italy whom she loved. Ilda adored her two grandsons Gianni and Gabriel. She spent many holiday celebrations and visits with them and enjoyed hearing about their accomplishments and meeting their friends. Ilda spent her last weeks in the care of her son and daughter-in-law Lisa, where they spent precious time reminiscing and sharing their gratitude for a life well lived. She enjoyed the many phone calls, visits and good wishes during her last weeks. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, November 27 at 9:30am at St. Francis de Sales Church, 35 New Road in Lenni. A funeral mass will be at 10:30am. Internment will be private. Donations can be made to St. Francis de Sales Church where she enjoyed attending mass often with her family.

Had the pleasure of meeting Ilda on several occasions..She was always so pleasant and made a point of reminding me that she knew my mother in law. What a fiercely independent woman she was. May all the best memories surround you as she watches over you and your family.
