MICHAEL KENNEDY Obituary

Published by D'Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall on Jun. 25, 2022.
Michael A. Kennedy, 75, a son, husband, brother, father and grandfather, as well as a friend to many, passed away on June 25, 2022. While being raised in Darby and attending Monsignor Bonner high school, he met his future wife, Donna Reed at a "mixer" with Archbishop Prendergast high school. Following high school, he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Drexel University, which was followed by a JD/MBA at the Law School and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Michael and Donna were subsequently married in 1974 and settled in Marlton, NJ. Mr. Kennedy enjoyed nearly 20 years with the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand (subsequently PricewaterhouseCoopers) in Philadelphia as an international tax expert. Mr. Kennedy joined Coopers in 1973 and was admitted as a partner in 1976. During his career, he was an expert in the firm's tax and estate practice with specialization in international mergers and acquisitions while being an extraordinary mentor to his co-workers due to his unparalleled comprehensive knowledge of the tax code. An avid lover of sports, politics and history, he will be best remembered in his storytelling ability which was filled with a witty sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife Donna, daughters Megan (Charlie Mylonas) and M. Laura, brother Matthew (Patricia), sister Mary, and his two grandchildren, Charles and Catherine, who affectionately referred to him as Pop-Pop. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. At Mike's request, there will be a small service for immediate family members only. Instead, he requested that friends and loved ones enjoy a cup of coffee and read the Sunday newspaper. When you read an article that provokes a conversation, he will be there. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Heart Association.
