Clay Jordan (1955–2022), “Survivor: Thailand” runner-up

by Linnea Crowther

Clay Jordan was the runner-up in “Survivor: Thailand,” the fifth season of the popular reality competition show.

“Survivor” and beyond

Jordan was a restaurateur in Monroe, Louisiana when he was cast on “Survivor: Thailand” in 2002. He owned the Kettle and Jordan’s. On “Survivor,” he was a member of the Chuay Gahn tribe, though he was the last contestant chosen when the tribes were being established. Although he was not particularly popular among his fellow Chuay Gahns, Jordan persevered and came close to winning his season. In the final vote, he lost to Brian Heidik by one vote. In later years, Jordan worked as a salesman in the oil and gas industry.
