Canandian born actor Peter Aykroyd was a featured cast member and writer for “Saturday Night Live” from 1979-1980. On “SNL,,” he starred in the short film “Java Junkie.” Before “SNL,” he was a member of the Second City comedy troupe in Toronto. He and his brother Dan Aykroyd wrote the movie “Nothing but Trouble,” a 1991 comedy that starred Chevy Chase. He played featured roles alongside his brother in the movies “Coneheads,” and “Spies Like Us.” “Saturday Night Live” paid tribute to Peter Aykroyd during Saturday’s live broadcast.
