DURRENBERGER, Daniel J. Arizona lost a major television innovator and consummate communicator when Daniel J. He graduated from Chaminade High School in l970 and then went on to be a graduate of ASU with a bachelor's degree in marketing and an MBA in management. I began my television career at Ch. 8 in a volunteer program. That's where I met Dan. At a glance, his persona did not let on that he had such a great wit and sense of humor. I hadn't seen Dan in years, and then I read an article by him. I called and Dan and I had lunch to catch up on years that had passed. The great ones just should not have to leave us so soon. He is missed. I wonder what practical jokes he'll be playing til we see him again!

Dan and I were politically night and day, but he was such a good friend to me. During one of the darkest periods of my life he gave me advice that I live by to this day. He will be missed.

I worked with Dan a long time ago at KAET. For someone who seemed so "serious", his sense of humor and the practical jokes he used to play, (holding a co-worker's doll for ransom for one thing), were such a contrast to the "image" he projected. Thanks for the laughs Dan.

Good bye my friend, I am so sorry I did not get a chance to tell you how much I always enjoyed your company, your lively opinions and your great intelligence. I will miss all of that and thanks so much for being your own person and including me in so many of your thoughtful events over these last 17 years, I will not forget you or our friendship. Rest in peace .

Thanks for all the good times, Dan. The boat trips to the lakes, the dinners at your home, your community involvement, your endless stories.... all fascinating.

It was a pleasure knowing you.

I am shocked to see the name Daniel J. Durrenberger in the obits. He was a vibrant active individual who gave much of himself to his community and fellow man. How sad.

I am shocked that Dan is gone. Finally I get a chance to come to Arizona from Oregon via Italy -- and he is gone! I am so sad. He was a great, witty and fun person. He will definitely be missed. I miss him already!

I am so sorry to hear that this creative, positive person will no longer be contributing to the conscience, the sophistication, and the joy of this community. On a personal note, Dan (I think unwittingly!) helped me get through the very painful months after my divorce, simply by having dinner together occasionally. The last time we dined, he spoke very lovingly and with great awe of his energetic and creative parents. My heart goes out to them, to the rest of Dan's family, and to all of his many friends and colleagues.

I had the pleasure of working with Dan on a few occasions for business. He was always a joy to deal with and provided a valuable service that was evidence of his wealth of experience. It was my honor to have known and worked with him. His sense of community involvement will be a loss.
