JOSEPH "JO JO" FROEHLICH, SR., died at his home in Crescent City, Sunday afternoon May 6, 2018 with his family at his side. Mr. Froehlich and his wife, Catherine came to live in Crescent City in 1962 coming from
Bridgehampton, New York. He maintained potato farms in New York and Florida and would travel to each farm according to the growing season. "Jo Jo" enjoyed membership with the Northeast Florida Growers Exchange, the Lions Club, Crescent City Rotary Club of which he was the honored recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award, Eagles #4435 of Ormond Beach, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 2577 of Palm Coast. He was also an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus of Crescent City. In New York he was a member of the Bridgehampton, New York Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years. "Jo Jo" was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine in 2009. He is survived by his sons, Joseph "Joey" (Diane) Froehlich of Crescent City, John (Julie) Froehlich of Bridgehampton, New York and Jay Froehlich of Ormond Beach, Florida; a sister, Rose (Jack) Troy of Centereach, New York, and sister in law, Gloria (Harry "Henry") Rossi of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania; Companion of 8 years, Grace Mew of Crescent City; grandchildren, Jeremy (Courtney) Froehlich, James Froehlich, Jade Froehlich, Havyn Froehlich, Jason Busler (Paul Mulligan), Michael (Carla) Busler, and John Davenport; two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Addison Busler. Visitation and viewing was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 9th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 10th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Jim May officiating. Burial followed in St. Johns Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Florida 32177.
