Herman Hamilton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 27 to Dec. 28, 2018.
Herman George Hamilton Jr., a U.S. Navy veteran, age 69, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, December 23 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born October 30th, 1949, in Annapolis, Maryland to Herman George Hamilton Sr. and Cecilia Sylvia (Baszak) Hamilton.

He was the owner and operator of Hamilton Electronics. He served on the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Bureau of Maryland for the last 18 years, and as the Executive Assistant with the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) for the last 13 years. Herman's purest joys in life included crafting beautiful pieces of furniture in his barn for family and friends, spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, hosting annual crab feasts for his closest friends and family, and advocating for the ban of asbestos and the protection of its victims. Left to honor Herman and remember him are Herman's five children, Dawn Lewis, Amber Hern, Amanda Barnes, Joshua Hamilton, and Peter Hamilton; ten beloved grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Stahl, Mary Beall, a brother, Bobby Matthews; and many nieces and nephews. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Robert Matthews, and brother, Jimmy Hamilton.

The Hamilton family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the close friends of Herman that stood in as caregivers these past several months. Your devotion to our father's care was comforting and we will always be grateful. A private family memorial will be held. Memorial donations may be made in Herman's honor to the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization, an organization Herman most passionately supported.
