We are currently doing a unit on WWII in history today, and it made me think of grandpa Lomax. I wanted the details of his service to make sure I didn't get the info wrong. Miss you, Grandpa!

My name is Audrey Blash-Thorpe. I played basketball and ran track in a period of time that Coach was at Risley. I am praying for you and your family Mrs. Lomax; May God's love make your grief bearable.

I attended high schools at Washington Street and Oconee High Schools in Dublin, Georgia. I had the honor of playing against some very great football, basketball and track members at Risley High. Coach Lomax was a great athletic coach and was ahead of most if not all high school coaches in the sate of Georgia. He was a tactican and a great motivator. His team of 1950 (football() was the greatest. In addition, Coach Lomax was a great example to all athletes. I met so many great athletes from Risley High while I was playing for Dublin Georgia (1951-1954) May He rest in heaven. Bob Evans, Newark, Ohio, formerly of Dublin, Georgia.

As a freshman in the Fall of 1977 at Fort Valley State, I was a student worker in the Office of Assistant to the President. I've always had the utmost respect for Mr. Lomax. He was very busy in his role as Assistant to the President, but still very courteous and took time to share a kind word. He was indeed the epitome of a dignified man. God blessed him to live a very long life and serve as a positive role model for so many people. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

How does one say goodbye to a Legend - one who has made MAJOR AND MULTIPLE contributions into the lives and legends of others for so MANY years? One does not; we say "Good night, and we will see you in the morning." We are eternally grateful to you and yours - you helped give us our "start" in life, as we strive to help others along the way.
