Terri Baumann Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 29, 2005.
Rapid City - Terri Baumann, 50, of Rapid City, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, in her home, after eight courageous years battling breast cancer. She was born May 8, 1955, in Aberdeen to Jacob and Rose Weber. She graduated high school in 1973 from Aberdeen Central. In 1976 she met her husband, Rich, and they were married March 1, 1979. Throughout the next five years, she worked by her husband's side in the jewelry business. Her artistic and creative abilities provided an essential addition in and out of the jewelry store. She took pride in being a homemaker, where her true love was her children, family, and friends. She loved decorating and lent this passion to her home, the store, and the community. Over the past eight years, she thrived on traveling. She enjoyed Europe and South Africa as well as going south to Arizona where family and friends could come to visit. All will miss her special sense of humor. Survivors include her husband, Richard, Rapid City; daughter, Emily, Rapid City; son, Michael, Rapid City; stepdaughter, Brooke, Las Vegas, Nev.; her mother, Rose Weber, Aberdeen; mother-in-law, Emm, Rapid City; five sisters: Sandra (“Tom” H.C.) Peterson, Sioux Falls, Cheryl (John) Ulrickson, Fargo, N.D., Mary (Peter) Carrels, Aberdeen, Suzy (Roger) Effertz, St. Louis, Mo., and Shelly (Dan) Rausch, Sioux Falls; two brothers, Ron (Vikki) Weber, Fort Collins, Colo., and Mike Weber, Watertown; and many nieces and nephews who will lovingly remember their “favorite Aunt Sweetie” and her beloved pet, Chewy. She was preceded in death by her father, Jacob Weber; her brother, Mark Weber; and her father-in-law, Dick Baumann. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at South Canyon Lutheran Church in Rapid City with Rev. Bruce Thalacker officiating. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City. A memorial has been established for the Black Hills Children's Home. Rich and Family, We are so saddened at the loss of Terri, she was a great person. We enjoyed being with both of you in South Africa. And hold the memmories of that fun trip in our thoughts. I just remember watching her smile as we watched the Lions, and their babies come over the ridge to the watering area. Or flying down the road in the the Land rover. It was a great time that we feel blessed to have spent with both of you. Her smile was wonderful. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the months ahead. In deepest sympathy. Rich & family:

Terri is my 1st cousin and Aunt Rose is my mom's sister. I had a brief opportunity to spend time with Terri in May, '05, in Aberdeen, SD. We celebrated Mary's son's graduation and the christening of Sonya's baby. I was so amazed at how healthy and beautiful "Sweetie" looked considering all she had been through with the cancer. I feel very fortunate to have had that brief moment of time with her. My deepest condolensces to the Bauman's, the Weber's, and to give Aunt Rose strength through all of this. She has suffered many losses in her lifetime. Much love,

Sharon Stauss

Dear Rich & family,

Terri was my cousin and it had been many years since I had seen her. Last May we had a brief, but wonderful visit in Aberdeen at the christening of Sonya's baby girl. She looked beautiful and I will always remember her cute smile! To Aunt Rose, the Weber families, and the Bauman families, you have my deepest condolences. Terri showed all of us how a beautiful life should be lived. God Bless. Sharon & Don Stauss, Canby, OR

To Aunt Rose and her children. I'm saddened by the news of Sweetie. I am however very grateful that after so many years of not seeing any of you that I finally got to see all the girls last February here in Arizona. I enjoyed the time I got to spend with you and I'm glad I got to see Sweetie before she left us. I miss seeing all of you. Please know that you're all in Susan's and my thoughts and prayers at this time.

Rich

We would like to convey our sympathy to you and your family. When we were younger I remember you as the kind of guy that really didn't care about how old the kids around you were, you always treated them like they were family. You new my sisters , Jackie , and Judi. As a kid growing up in Aberdeen I remember how you always had a welcome smile, as opposed to that "don't bother me kid" look you could get from other guys. That is testament to the kind of of man you were to be. Terri was blessed to be with a man like you and I know you would say you were blessed to share her life. Keep her in your heart always.

Sincerely,

The Schumachers

Rich and family,

I was saddened to hear of Terri's death. I enjoyed getting to know her through our mutual friend Marya. I especially loved her smile, great sense of humor and style. I looked forward to seeing her incredible creations at the annual festival of trees. Her's was always my choice for best of show. This year was difficult for me to pick a favorite without a Terri Baumann tree to choose from. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
