Leo Hollins Obituary
On May 23, 2016, Leo Hollins Sr., 84, passed away in Olney, Texas.
Leo Sr. is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Powdrell) Hollins; daughters, Marla Hollins, Ja'Net (Keith) Breckenridge; sons, Leo Jr (Liz Thomson) and Christopher; sister Dorothy McGruder; sister- in-law Lillie Hollins and lifelong best friend Roy Clifton.
Leo Sr. was preceded in death by his parents Flora and Albert Hollins and siblings LB, Louis, Dearphine and Beunice.
Leo Sr. was born on November 7, 1931 in Gilmer, Texas. He moved to Albuquerque in 1961. Leo received a Bachelor's degree in Special Education at the University of New Mexico. Leo Sr. retired from Goodwill Industries in 1996 where he served as an Employment Counselor, Educator and Activist for people with disabilities. He moved to Olney, Texas to be with family and enjoy his passion for fishing and country life. Leo was known as "The Best Crappie Fisherman Ever!"
The joy of Leo's life was his six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and innumerable adopted children.
We miss you so much but know the chain will link again.

Leo Hollins was a wonderful Man. I remember him
when I worked at Lobo Campus Pharmacy in the 80's
and he would stop by to say Hello and get his
Prescriptions. He will be Missed.

Leo was a wonderful person. I met him over 40 years ago when I moved across the street from him in Albuquerque. He was a man of great integrity, strength, and compassion. While he and Dorothy raised their four children, I had the privilege of seeing "how it should be done". When I went back to college, they watched my oldest son, and at one point, took care of my dog for at least a year. There should be more people in the world like Leo, a tribute to those who knew him.
May God give your loved ones comfort and strength at this time of loss and reflection.
