Duane Tafoya, 61, born September 27 th , 1964, passed away the morning of March 20 th ,
2026.
Duane was raised to be a hardworking man, he never let things keep him down and he
persevered. He attended the University of New Mexico where he received his
associates and later created his own maintenance business. That hardworking mindset
greatly inspired others around him.
Duane strived to experience life to the fullest. Fishing, rock climbing, mechanic work,
dancing, singing, owning businesses- he was always ready to do something; to live.
Often, he would say life is too short to not get out there, even if it’s scary. He was known
for his caring and outgoing personality, and whatever hardships he faced he did it with
grace and strength. His ability and willingness to help anyone in need will always be
remembered and embraced by those he encountered. The light he brought to others will
continue to shine in his memory.
Duane is survived by his children, Eric, Tabatha, and Sabrina Tafoya. As well as his
siblings, Eric and Sharon, and his mother Evangeline.
