Richard Henry Uhlenhopp

1967 - 2013

Richard Henry Uhlenhopp was born May 19, 1967 in Fort Morgan, Colorado. He graduated from Akron High School in 1985. He married Marci E. Shapard on May 7, 1987 and they began their lives together on the Henry and Hazel Volberding farm located 18 miles south and two miles west of Akron. From the union he became the father to Whitney N., Jordan H., and Bailee Raye Uhlenhopp all the loves of his life. In 1995, Richard and his family moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma where he worked as the foreman on the Rocking H Buffalo Ranch. Richard continued to reside in Oklahoma until his death on August 22, 2013 from an auto accident near Kingfisher, OK.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Henry and Hazel Volberding, and Richard and Shirley Uhlenhopp. He is survived by his wife Marci; one son Jordan; two daughters Bailee and Whitney; and one grandson Armani Valdez, all of Guthrie, OK. He is also survived by his parents, Ron and Henrietta Uhlenhopp; and brother Robert Uhlenhopp all of Akron, Colorado; one sister Rebecca (Rich) Hogan and two nieces Taylor and Abby Hogan of Pueblo, Colorado.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Akron Cemetery, Akron, Colorado. Memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to the Pepper's Ranch, 3200 S Western Ave., Guthrie, OK 73044. Bowin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
