ANTHONY F. MOREA
AGE: 74 WAYSIDE
Anthony F. Morea, 74, of Wayside, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he spent most of his life in Middletown prior to moving to Wayside. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Brooklyn and received his B.A. from Brooklyn College. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1960. He worked on Wall Street for 40 years and then retired from NASDAQ, New York in 1993 as Chief Operating Officer. Anthony will always be remembered for the love of his family, his devotion to his friends and for helping others. He was a kind and caring man who was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He loved to watch his grandchildren in their sports, theatre etc. He was an avid boater, fisherman and found peace at sea.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty; his caring daughters, Laura Travers and her husband Michael, and Lisa Novoa and her husband Roberto; five grandchildren, Kristin, David, Taylor, Michael and Isabella; two step grandchildren, Tito and Sofia; and his brother, Junior DeMartino. He also is survived by his extended family.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 at the Bongarzone Funeral Home, 2400 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls. A funeral mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19 from St. Dorothea's R.C. Church, Eatontown. Cremation will be private.
