Anthony J. "Skeeter" Spitaleri, III, age 60, of Edison passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at J.F.K. Medical Center, Edison. Born in New Brunswick he was raised in South River before moving to Edison 34 years ago. Skeeter was the 3rd generation owner of Spitaleri Furniture in South River where he worked with his family since he was eight years old. He was a former member and chairman of the South River Economic Development Commission, South River Parking Authority, Buck & Bird Hunting Club, Morgan Creek Yacht Club and South River Knights of Columbus Council 3001. Skeeter was an avid fisherman, hunter, boat enthusiast and loved working out.

He is predeceased by father, Anthony J. Spitaleri Jr., and his mother, Estella Bittner. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Jill Mackiewicz Spitaleri; his children, Jennifer Spitaleri of South River, Anthony J. Spitaleri IV of Metuchen and Justina Raimondo and her husband Thomas of Metuchen; his sister, Estella Spitaleri of Somerville; his nephew, Shane Wierks of Somerville and his most beloved 8 grand dogs.

Funeral services will be held Monday 11am at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River with burial to follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
