Donald Clayton Obituary
Don's professional life was spent in commercial real estate. The family moved to Atlanta in 1968 where he was involved in many of the commercial projects that transformed the region including the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, Perimeter Mall and Cumberland Mall.
He enjoyed fishing, golf, and attending any of his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church for more than 30 years. A lifelong Green Bay Packers fan, he would often retell the story of attending the 1967 NFL Championship Ice Bowl between the Packers and the Cowboys where a flask of brandy got him through the game.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years Dolores, his siblings Harry Chlebowski, Bob Chlebowski, and Eleanor Kurowski.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Mark and Cindy Clayton of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law Chris and Maureen Clayton of Roswell; son and daughter-in-law David and Ann Clayton of Birmingham, AL; his brother Jerry Chlebowski of Madison, WI; his sister Carol Miller of Green Bay, WI; and seven grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jennifer, Ben, Brad, Alex, Matthew and Luke.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends consider a donation to YMCA Camp High Harbor Allatoona in memory of Donald Clayton
