JOHN ROBERTS PINHOLSTER John Roberts Pinholster died suddenly Saturday, March 6, 2004, in Daytona, FL. He was 28. John is survived by his loving parents, mother, Caroline Isbell Roberts of Atlanta, GA; and father and stepmother, Garland F. Pinholster and Darsa Pinholster of Ballground, GA. John's parents had always remained united in love, and in their commitment to raising and nurturing John, who was born January 24, 1976, in Northside Hospital, Atlanta. John attended the Holy Innocents Episcopal School through the 8th grade. He graduated from Academy High School and then completed several years of technical college. He worked as a fabricator for Specialty Car Company, and maintained a working garage, as well as a mini-sewing factory at home, where he never stopped inventing. John had received awards and press coverage for his hydraulics-powered "dancing" hip-hop car, the Disco Biskit. His car designs earned a personal letter of encouragement from Chrysler's Lee Iacocca when John was only 10. He was a talented creator of unique fashions, too, with an original sense of humor and style. John also is survived by sister Margaret Anderson, her husband Ralph, her daughter Theresa Johnson and baby Sage, Ralph's son, Jeremy Anderson of Atlanta, GA; sister Ginger Pinholster Stahley, her husband M. Otto Stahley and their daughter Caroline Stahley of Falls Church, VA; sister Carrie Wisniewski, her husband Joe and their son Bart Wisniewski of Norcross, GA; and sister Katie Pinholster of Atlanta, GA. John was an innovative thinker, beloved son, brother and friend, and a gentle soul. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. A private service for family and friends was held at The H.M. Patterson & Son, Arlington Chapel of Sandy Springs, GA. Presiding was Episcopal priest, The Rev. Frank Wilson of the Church of Our Holy Family, Jasper, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dorothy Sullivan Scholarship Fund at the Holy Innocents Episcopal School, 805 Mount Vernon Highway, NW, Atlanta, GA 30327.
