I am thinking a reunion of former patients might be in order....We could turn it into a Fundraiser for the Family's favorite children's charity or a Scholarship in Dr. Joseph's name for someone committed to working with people/children (nurses, teachers, socail workers).

I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Joseph's passing. He will be missed by many people. He was my pediatrician when he made house calls in the 50's. He would come out to our house when I was sick. He would visit with my parents and drink coffee. When I got married and we had our first child in 1976 I knew I wanted Dr. Joseph to be our children's pediatrician. We lived in Henry County it was a pretty good drive to his office but it was worth it! Being a new mom he always listened to all my questions and never rushed out the door. Dr. Joseph was a very caring and personable person. In one of our many conversations we were talking about my husband deer hunting. He wanted to try some venison. On my next visit I brought him some and later he said he really enjoyed it. On one of my visits with my second child I had been on weight watchers diet and had lost weight.Dr. Joseph was concerned and asked me what I had been doing. He said you are losing too much weight. He had the nurse come in and check my blood sugar. He was very special to me and my three children. Rebekah, Carla and Gary Jr. He was a wonderful Dr. and friend. My prayers are with the family. Love and God Bless, Becky Edwards Morris

Dr. Joseph was our daughter's pediatrician from the night she was born in 1956 at Crawford Long Hospital. We remember times when he would come to our home when our daughter was ill, and after taking care of her, he would sit down for a cup of coffee and conversation. We considered him a good friend. He will be dearly missed.

Dr Joseph was our daughters pediatrician in East Point from the night she was born at South Fulton Hospital in 1956. We recall on occasions when he was called to our home to treat our child for an illness how wounderful and personable he was. After treating her he would sit down and converse with us as you would with an old friend. On occasions when it was supper time he would join us in a meal. I invited him to go fishing with us and he accepted the invitation. I often have regreted that I never followed up and consumated the fishing trip. We have great memories of him and we know that he will be dearly missed.

Dr. Joseph was my pediatrician growing up in East Point back in the fifties and sixties. I can remember him coming to my house when I had a bad case of the measles. I also remember a time when I had a bad burn. He put something on it that took the pain away, and I thought it was magic. He was a wonderful man and doctor.

Dr. Joseph was mine and my brother's pediatrician when we were children. I can remembered my mother telling me of the times he came to our home when I had bad asthma attacks. Although I did not like shots, I always enjoyed seeing Dr. Joseph. He truly cared for all his patients.
May God's love comfort you during this sad time.

July 26, 2010

Dr. Joseph was a wonderful doctor for my son and daughter. He always had good advise for me as a young mother. I remember bringing my son in around 1963 and he said, "you have enough clothes on him for two babies! Take some of those clothes off !' After 45 years that baby is still hot in winter time. I took my son and daughter to Dr.Joseph right on up to college and they always enjoyed seeing him. Sending condolences to his family. Eleanor Nagle, Fayetteville, Ga.

Many years ago, Dr. Joseph was my Pediatrician. A visit to his office meant more often than not I was going to receive a penicillin injection. I became a nurse and have thought of him often as I had to give a child an injection. Sometimes things are not pleasant but needed. I want his family to know today I carry a part of him in my heart as I take care of people.

As a child, I used to think Dr. Joseph's Baby Aspirin were his and only his patients had them!

RIP Dr. Alfred Jospeh, My First Doctor, My First Mentor.

I am blessed to have had Al as a friend and, in a way he was a mentor to me as a fellow pediatrician in East Point. We had great times golfing, attending medical meetings with our spouses, and just visiting. I surely appreciate Janice's recent updates. May God be your comfort and strength at this difficult time.
