Bill became a good friend to my wife, Jill, and me through our years together at the New Hampshire Historical Society. Visiting him at his homes in Temple, N.H., and Newnan, Georgia, was always a special event. His unselfish willingness to share his knowledge and appreciation of the fine arts resulted in a mentorship that I shall always treasure.

I had the pleasure of serving with Bill on the Board of The New Hampshire Historical Society. He was a good friend, and he will be missed.
