Erin Sullivan Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

SULLIVAN, Erin ERIN CATHERINE SULLIVAN Erin Catherine Sullivan, age 17, of Atlanta, GA passed away Sunday May 31, 2009. This gentle soul came into our lives on May 22, 1992. Erin was a graduate of Holy Redeemer Catholic School and currently a junior at Marist High School. Erin was a gifted writer with the ability to express her feelings with an eloquence and clarity that belied her years. In addition to her talent for writing she was a manager for the Marist Swim and Lacrosse teams and a Eucharistic Minister as well as being deeply involved in Emmaus. Although in recent years Erin suffered numerous setbacks, you would never find a kinder or more sensitive child. Family and friends often remarked on her "sweetness" and "purity of soul." Each time she was challenged it only served to strengthen her faith in both God and man's innate goodness. She always believed that you should be kinder then necessary for everyone you meet is fighting some type of battle. Beautiful, whimsical, ethereal Erin will be forever missed by her loving parents, Donna and Jerry Frank Sullivan, brothers, James, Jack and Keenan Sullivan, grandmothers, Patricia Curtis and Carol Sullivan. Erin was preceded in death by her beloved grandfathers, Pete Curtis and Frank Sullivan. Erin's absence will be greatly felt by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and friends. The viewing and memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at St. Brigid's Catholic Church. The prayer service will begin at 8:00pm. A celebration of Erin's life will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 1:30pm at St. Brigid's Catholic Church with a reception immediately following. Funeral arrangements will be made by Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076. (770) 993-4811. In lieu of contributions, the Sullivan family asks that you just hug your kids. Additional donations in Erin's name can be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, at http:// www.cff.org/Great_Strides/SueHurst.

Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan, James, Jack, and Keenan,

Sitting in my office on a hazy Thursday I feel Erin's spirit with me. Somewhat bored and feeling alone in my office, it is as if Erin is trying to tell me to be happy. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her laugh, smile, and electric spirit. I pray each day for every one of you and your strenghth as I too accept that the Lord cradles Erin in the Kingdom above. Her peace gives me the courage to continue on.

Mrs. Sullivan, Rissa and I were wanting to do a girl's movie night one of these upcoming evenings. Let us know when you are free.

And to Erin, I know that life somewhere over the rainbow in Heaven is beautiful and pure and that your love will do wonders for those who remain on this Earth. You have taught me how to live life with a confidence I never knew I had. Teach us the way each day and keep smiling down on your family. I miss you and will love you forever sis.

All my love and prayers,
Lauren Hogan

I was deeply saddened to learn of Erin's death. I can still see her sweet face and seem to recall she wasn't too fond of coming to preschool at Northminster in the beginning but we won her over in time. I will remember her fondly.
