Jean TRAVIS Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

TRAVIS, Jean Jean Edwards Travis, 94, of Atlanta and formerly of Fairmont WV, went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 1, 2012. A native of Wadestown WV, she was a graduate of Burnsville High School, class of 1938, and, when she passed away, was its oldest living alumnae. Jean was the widow of Henry Travis, who passed away in 1968. Mrs. Travis was a past president and 59 year member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Chapter 2373 in Fairmont. Also, she was a long time member of the VFW Auxiliary in Fairmont. Mrs. Travis is survived by her daughters, Mary Kay Travis of Atlanta, Carol Jean Seare of Fairmont WV, Delores Travis of Atlanta, Linda and Marty McCaulley of Fairmont WV and Penny and Harry Marks of Baxter WV; grandchildren, Chuck Travis, Stephanie Woodring, Seneca Marks, Michael McCaulley, Jessica Marks and Cassie McCaulley; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a cousin, Pebble Faye Pritt and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Travis was cremated and a memorial service will be held in West Virginia at a later date. A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
